The objective of the “Oral Disease Diagnosis Using Artificial Intelligence” proposal is the treatment and prognosis of oral cavity diseases through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques.
SMART ORAL DISEASE DIAGNOSIS
Smart Artificial Intelligence system for faster and more accurate diagnosis of oral cavity diseases.
For this purpose, a “Smart” Information System (smart-IS) will be developed, targeting doctors, dentists, and hospital institutions. This smart-IS will be fed with input data to produce recommendations that can then be reliably used by the attending physician. The proposal aims to contribute to the research question of whether Artificial Intelligence can be applied and contribute to the field of Stomatology and the recognition of Oral Diseases.
The answer to this question can yield enormous and significant benefits in the field, dynamically contributing both to the early prognosis and treatment of potential diseases, as well as to the saving of resources and time, important factors that are often lacking in Healthcare Systems.
MEDICAL DATA ORGANIZATION
In parallel, in the field of Artificial Intelligence, the proposal addresses two research questions:
The investigation of the appropriate way to organize medical data, which is lacking in the scientific community, as well as the creation of a relevant database open to the community.
The creation of a multi-modal recognition algorithm, capable of combining both the current image of the patient and certain information related to their medical history.
